Installed several in Athearn and Bachmann diesels with fantastic results. it’s nice and compact, big advantage that speaker piggy backs on decoder saving room. Best sound is EMD645E (nice and hefty). Plays loud, great lows, big horn sound with nice sounding bell. Very flexible in customizing performance. Great price point for value! XL Systems provides excellent customer support if needed, which I did one time.

Excellent decoder and I haven’t found anything even close to the price that is as good. I have bought quite a few XL Systems decoders and have not been disappointed with a one of them.
